Ten Rivers Food Web and renowned Chef Matt Bennett presented a Mexican-inspired Cinco de Mayo fundraiser dinner for That’s My Farmer SNAP on Sunday May 5th at Linn-Benton Community College in Albany.  The Carts and Tools team was there in full force.

That’s My Farmer SNAP is a flagship program of Ten Rivers Food Web—the program’s goal is to increase access to healthy fresh and local food from our area farmers’ markets. The program provides $6 in matching incentive funds to patrons who use at least $6 of their SNAP benefits (formerly known as food stamps) at the farmers market. Many SNAP recipients are encouraged by the incentive to shop at the market for the first time, and then become regular farmers’ market customers.

The event kicked off with a VIP reception followed by dinner, a silent auction, and live music. The Mexican themed menu featured food from local farmers and ranchers and wine and beer was provided by Mark’s Ridge Winery and the Calapooia Brewing Company.
